Consumer spaces sorted by most popular by age group. We asked people to position counters on a map of Stretford's amenity centre to design their own master-plan detailing what they find currently absent to envision their idealised Town. Each diagram is a compilation of all participants in their respective categories.

Cinema + Fitness

desired locale

There's a correlation between people wanting a cinema within Stretford again with the pre-existing Essoldo theatre plot as children would like to see the theatre reopened.

Fitness is another amenity space which is strongly associated to a location, along Victoria Park's western front.

Adults (Age 21-59)
Consumer space preferences
Restaurant + Farmer's Market
desired locale

The most popular improvement for adults in the sample is the addition of amenities to the Stretford mall, especially restaurants, along the Chester Rd street front. It was mentioned the current exterior is uninviting and aesthetically unpleasing.  Facilities in this location have the potential to be open during evening hours , unlike the mall itself with its current closing time policy.

Cinema + Theatre

Adults also commonly desire the reopening and reuse of the Essoldo cinema with interest towards a theatre space for performing arts and community events.

Elderly (Age 60-77)
Consumer space preferences
Restaurants + Street Food
desired locale

People in this age category identity that their's a distinct lack of Restaurant and food facilities in Stretford, and hold this as their greatest priority. The Essoldo cinema had been mentioned on multiple occasions to be integrated with a restaurant making use of the neighbouring canal way and associated views. The Town would also beneifit greatly with retail clothing chains as they are currently absent. Locals are thereby forced to travel distances to neighbouring buroughs such as Sale and Trafford centre.

Child (Age 6-16)

Arts & Crafts + Arcade

desired locale

The children we asked care most for public social spaces and gaming experiences that an arcade provides. There's also a common interest for creative activities in this age group, such as hobby & crafts; specialist DIY stores as well as workshops facilitate these needs.

Victoria Park doesn't currently have a play area/ outdoor fitness space which was one of the next most issues that was recurringly raised. Parents had noted they use this public space as it is the most conveniently located park to their selves, valuable in occupying and supervising their child.
